Ice Age Trail Conditions.
Conditions on the IAT in southern Kettle Moraine are typical for June.  Mostly sunny, some passing clouds (if it isn't storming!), a few mosquitos.
It seems to me the mosquitos are lesser this year.  We did have a wet Spring, which normally would bring them out in droves.  But last year's drought decimated their numbers so there were fewer eggs and larvae going in to 2013.  Then we had an extremely cold Spring, with mosquito season delayed a good 2 months, so they are just getting started now.  Perhaps by July they will be back in numbers, and swell numerically through August, by which time they are normally dwindling due to dry weather.
Ticks have been extremely bad this year, however.  Frontline or other anti tick insecticide, is a must before taking your dog on any hike.
Temps have been in the 60s all May, up into the high 70s in June, and over 80 on a few sunny days.  The trail has finally dried out, mostly, after torrential rains in April.  Undergrowth is going crazy, trails getting encroached on by expanding vegetation.
